“Within 90 seconds of meeting Aaron, I knew there was an impalpable connection. He has this incredible way of making me answer my own questions. He really custom tailors each session in a natural way.”
I became a therapist because I believe people have an innate capacity to heal when they feel truly seen and supported. My work is grounded in that belief.
I graduated from Naropa University, where I trained in Eastern and contemplative approaches to psychology. That education shaped something fundamental in how I work: I think of therapy not as problem-solving, but as a path toward deeper self-understanding and the wholeness that’s already in you.
In sessions, I try to slow down to what’s actually present. Not just what you’re saying, but how you’re carrying it. I don’t follow scripts or run fixed protocols. I’m genuinely curious about you specifically, and I pay close attention to what shows up in the body, not just the mind. Clients often tell me they feel heard in a way that’s different from what they expected.
Early in my career, I worked in inner-city settings with marginalized youth and families. That experience taught me the importance of meeting people where they are, building on their existing strengths, and honoring the resilience that comes from navigating difficult circumstances.
My practice is also informed by years of contemplative training, including Buddhist meditation and time spent living in Central and South America. These experiences deepened my understanding of embodiment, mindfulness, and what it means to sit with someone in their suffering without rushing to fix it.
Today, I work with individuals and couples in Portland who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. I bring warmth, honesty, and genuine curiosity to every session.
